Gear yourselves for an adventure
There is so much to do and see for nature lovers and adventurous travelers in one of the country’s oldest tropical rainforest. Home to a variety of exotic and protected flora and fauna, a panoramic view of the area awaits you. You’ll be mesmerized with the cascading waterfalls and incredible wildlife at the nature reserve. The cascading waterfalls forming the lakes with different species of fresh-water fish make it a perfect destination for the whole family to have fun during the weekend.
Endau-Rompin State Park
A special adventure awaits you at the scrumptiously beautiful Endau-Rompin State Park. Crowded with visitors all-year round due to its tropical rainforest, immerse yourself in the exotic sights of tropical plants and some of nature’s most feared wildlife. This one last remaining lowland forest in the country, the park stretched over 80,000 hectares of undisturbed jungle between Pahang and Johor.
Conquer Gunung Tahan
You’ll find plenty of challenging jungle trails and secret limestone caves once you get to the ground of the park. Hikers, belt up because you need to climb the highest peak in Peninsular – Gunung Tahan.
But here’s a little reminder for first time visitors, contact your nearby travel agent because the park has very limited infrastructure and is underdeveloped. Hence, for your safety reasons, it is best to request and register for exploration package because after all, visitors are required to obtain entry permits from District Office of Kuala Rompin before entering the state park. Those who are travelling from other parts of country, you’ll need to drive between three and four hours from Kuala Lumpur or Kuantan.
Other offerings at Endau-Rompin State Park
Endau-Rompin State Park offers more than jungle trails and spectacular mountains. Visitors can check out other adrenaline-pumping activities such as exhilarating cave exploration and rapid shooting. Among other activities available are such as bird watching, camping, swimming, fishing and keeping yourself entertained by watching slides and films shown at the Interpretive Room around 8.45 pm daily.
And some of the key attractions around the state park include a spacious area of bonsai trees known as Padang Tujuh, famous fishing spots in Sungai KinChin and Sungai Kemapan, picnic spot for families at the:
